About New China Mongolian BBQ

New China Mongolian BBQ is a casual restaurant that brings together the speed of quick service with the satisfying variety of a made to order dining experience. It is the kind of place that appeals to guests who want a meal that feels both personal and efficient, whether they are stopping in for lunch, meeting friends for dinner, or looking for a dependable option for a solo meal. The restaurantโ€™s format is especially well suited to people who appreciate freshness, choice, and the ability to build a plate that matches their own taste. Rather than offering a one size fits all approach, it gives diners a sense of control over the experience, which is one of the main reasons this style of restaurant continues to attract a loyal audience.

As a Mongolian barbecue restaurant with Chinese food influences, New China Mongolian BBQ offers a dining style that blends comfort, customization, and familiar flavors. Guests who enjoy hearty meals can find plenty to appreciate, while those who prefer lighter combinations can create something that feels more balanced and tailored. That flexibility makes the restaurant a practical choice for different appetites and preferences. Families can find options that suit both adults and children, while groups can enjoy the easygoing setting without the pressure of a formal meal. The atmosphere supports relaxed dining, and the service model makes it easy to get in, eat well, and continue with the day.

The restaurant also stands out because it fits into a wide range of everyday routines. Many people visit restaurants like this when they need a satisfying meal without a long wait, and New China Mongolian BBQ is well positioned for that purpose. The experience is streamlined enough for busy schedules, yet it still offers the feeling of a full restaurant visit. Customers can choose dine in service when they want to sit and enjoy the meal, or use takeout and delivery when convenience matters more. That kind of flexibility is important in a modern dining environment, where people often look for food that adapts to their schedule rather than forcing them to change plans.

Another strength of New China Mongolian BBQ is its broad appeal. The menu style commonly associated with this type of restaurant can accommodate comfort food cravings, healthier combinations, quick bites, and vegetarian preferences, making it useful for mixed groups and repeat visits. For diners who like variety, the experience feels fresh because the meal can change from one visit to the next. For regular customers, that consistency with room for personalization creates a strong sense of reliability. It is the sort of place that can become part of a weekly routine because it offers both familiarity and enough variation to stay interesting.

The restaurant environment is also designed with accessibility and ease in mind. Features such as wheelchair accessible entry, seating, parking, and restrooms help make the space welcoming to more guests. Practical conveniences like free parking, credit and debit card acceptance, and mobile payment options further support a smooth visit. These details matter because they reduce friction and make the restaurant easier to recommend to a wide range of customers.

New China Mongolian BBQ reflects the kind of dining experience that many people value most today: fast, flexible, affordable in feel, and satisfying without being complicated. It combines the comfort of familiar cuisine with the appeal of a personalized meal, creating a dependable place for guests who want good food served in a straightforward, relaxed setting. Whether someone is visiting for a quick lunch, a casual dinner, or a convenient meal to go, the restaurant offers a practical and welcoming option that fits many different occasions.

As a loyal patron of several years, it is genuinely disappointing to write this review, but recent visits to New China Mongolian Barbecue in La Verne indicate a noticeable decline in both food quality and customer service standards. โ€‹Having enjoyed their meals for a long time, I was dismayed to find that the food quality has completely shifted. The signature flavor profile that made this place a favorite seems to have disappeared, and the meat texture has unfortunately become quite rubbery. โ€‹Compounding these food quality issues, the level of service and basic hygiene practices require immediate attention: โ€‹Hygiene Concerns: The cashier was observed wearing a single pair of disposable gloves while handling cash, operating the register, wiping down counters and tables, and even handling a broom to sweep the floor. Those exact same gloves were then used to touch customer food containers. Maintaining proper sanitary protocols is paramount in the food industry, and this lack of glove changing poses a serious hygiene issue. โ€‹Customer Service: When requesting a standard-sized cup for ice and soda, the request was met with resistance, offering only a smaller cup instead. Iโ€™ve only tried the Chinese food yet to try the Mongolian Grill. Food is always hot, fresh & delicious! Super convenient for a quick bite to go. Here are a few photos from the times I went!

This is a Mongolian hot griddle and prepared Chinese American fare. You choose the meats and vegetables and noodles at the cold bar for cooking on the hot griddle. You can also choose the prepared hot food at the hot bar which is mainly your staple Chinese American dishes such as beef with broccoli and General Tai Chicken etc. itโ€™s a decent meal at a nice price of $8 per lb. They have seating inside and outside. Parking is a bit crowded during peak due to Trade Joes being next door.

Iโ€™m rating this place based on what it is - a quick healthy meal. Place is very clean, great selection of meats including shrimp and tofu, not always available in other places and very fresh! I loved that the chef didnโ€™t walk around the table making my mixture of veggies pick up the super spiciness of the guy in front of me, a HUGE win in my book! Everything is by the pound and my 12.00 dinner was enough for lunch tomorrow.

This place is legit. If you canโ€™t decide between Chinese and Mongolian BBQ, this is a must stop. They do both very well. Food all around was good to excellent, if you think off self service fast food for both. Place was super clean and busy at 8pm on a weeknight, so everything still looked fresh. I tried a little bit of everything, but Mongolian was the stand out. They do charge by the lb so go slow, you can always order more. You will see that we went all in :) about $50 worth ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜I even tried the hot and sour soup that was made fresh for only $8.99. Only wish they had the option for single serving, since it was just for me. Oh well, leftovers for the weekend. So why only 4 stars? To be honest, if I only go back for Mongolian BBQ, others do it better. They only had garlic water and hot sauce for seasoning. They will add teriyaki while they cook if asked, but some others have various combinations to suit different preferences. Will I go back if I canโ€™t decide between fast food Chinese and Mongolian? Hell yes!
